Biografía Resumida – Short Biography

Nací en Barcelona (España) en 1948. Desarrollé un período de más de quince años como fotógrafo profesional. Mi trabajo estuvo principalmente dedicado a la fotografía editorial, publicitaria e industrial. Por mi parte, he estado siempre interesado en el paisaje, tanto natural como urbano. Graduado en Fotografía e Imagen Digital (BSc) por la Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), desde 1996 y hasta 2014 me he dedicado en exclusiva a la enseñanza de Tecnología de la Imagen en el Centre de la Imatge i la Tecnologia Multimèdia (CITM) del Campus de Terrassa de la UPC. Desde 2003, fuí coordinador del Image Quality Laboratory (IQL) en el mismo CITM. El IQL es un laboratorio experimental y de investigación que trabaja en métricas de medida de la calidad de la imagen y sistemas de procesado de imagen digital. Miembro de la Royal Photographic Society (RPS), en Febrero de 2017 recibí la distinción ASIS/FRPS (Accredited Senior Imaging Scientist and Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society). Después de mi jubilación en 2014, me dedico a desarrollar mi propia obra utilizando el Heliograbado (Fotograbado en Plancha de Cobre) como forma de presentación de las copias finales.

I was born in Barcelona (Spain) on 1948. Graduated in Photography and Digital Imaging (BSc) by the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), developed a period of more than fifteen years as a professional photographer. My work was mainly dedicated to the editorial, advertising and industrial photography. On my own, have been always interested in landscape, both natural and urban. From 1996 until 2014 have been exclusively devoted to teach Image Technology in the Center of the Image and Multimedia Technology (CITM) at the UPC Terrassa Campus. Since 2003, have been also Coordinator of the Image Quality Laboratory (IQL) at the same CITM. The IQL is an experimental and research laboratory working on the image quality metrics and digital image processing. Member also of the Royal Photographic Society (RPS), on February 2017 I received the ASIS/FRPS distinction (Accredited Senior Imaging Scientist and Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society). After my retirement on February 2014, I’m dedicated to develop my own photographic body of work, using Héliogravure (Photogravure on Copperplate) as almost the unique way to show final art.
